Team USA’s Chris Gordon and Todd Harrity will vie for the final spot in the J.P. Morgan Tournament of Champions men’s main draw in the wild card playoff final Tuesday night, January 7, at the Yale Club of New York.

Gordon, a Queens native, decisively advanced to the final in the first wild card match Monday night with an 11-7, 11-5, 11-3 win against Philadelphia-based Jamie Ruggiero.

It will be a familiar match up between the two Americans, who just last month represented Team USA together at the Men’s World Team Championship in Washington, DC. Gordon and Harrity have faced each other four times in the U.S. Men’s Championship, but have never met before on the PSA World Tour. Harrity won their most recent encounter in the 2019 U.S. Championship semifinals.

“It should be a good match, really competitive,” Gordon said. “We’ve definitely had a lot of match practice with each other with the world teams so it will be fun to get out there and have a good battle.”

The winner will earn an appearance on the Squash Engine Challenge Court in Grand Central Terminal on Thursday night against Australia’s Ryan Cuskelly.

The wild card final will take place at 6pm local time. Follow @ToCSquash on Twitter and Instagram for updates.
