The ToC Women’s Squash Leadership Award will be presented to Linda Elriani at a luncheon at the J.P. Morgan Tournament of Champions in Grand Central Terminal on January 21, 2015.

“We are so pleased to recognize Linda’s varied contributions to our sport,” said Tournament Chair, John Nimick. “As a professional player, Linda’s passion for squash was evident every time she stepped on court.  Her enthusiasm and never-say-die attitude endeared her to the ToC fans. She now shares that passion as Director of Squash at the Heights Casino in Brooklyn, NY and also as Tournament Director of the Carol Weymuller Open.“

Elriani enjoyed a glittering professional playing career in squash.  She reached a career-high world No 3 ranking in January 2000 and maintained an unbroken presence in the world top 10 between March 1999 and July 2006, the month before she retired. During her 16-year playing career, Elriani won 15 Tour titles, reaching 32 Tour finals including the 2005 Tournament of Champions final. She was capped 75 times for representing England in team competitions, including five successive World Team Championships between 1996 and 2004. Elriani was captain of the 2000 English team which won the World Title and also won a Commonwealth Games bronze medal in doubles with countrywoman Fiona Geaves.  Off court, Elriani served as Board Chair of the Women’s Squash Association.

Elriani now oversees all squash programming at the Heights Casino in Brooklyn, NY, a club with a storied history of producing champion squash players. She also serves as Tournament Director of the Carol Weymuller Open, a Women’s Squash Association Gold event.

The ToC Women’s Squash Leadership Award is presented during the J.P. Morgan Tournament of Champions, the world’s largest spectator squash event, which will take place January 16-23, 2015 in Vanderbilt Hall at Grand Central Terminal.
